		<description><![CDATA[Human nature being what it is should be the reason we stress personal responsibility over government responsibility for the individual. We think they are faceless bureaucrats, but they live and vote in self interest patterns and those are the interests of bigger government. So it would be natural for them, given a chance, to favor a person who thinks as they do over a person who opposes their very existance to help the one and hinder the other. 

The real issue is the loss of the phrase &quot;civil servant&quot;. We lost that when we lost the Christian value of leadership which is servanthood. Take Christianity out of our nation and we lose the notion that we are located in our place of life to serve others, it becomes all about what I can get out of the deal.
